What to Expect Each Day:
Day 1 – July 14: Welcome to the Undersea Kingdom
Icebreakers and introductions to create a sense of community
Overview of the camp schedule and The Little Mermaid story
Begin learning group songs like “Under the Sea”
Acting games to encourage self-expression and teamwork
Day 2 – July 15: Exploring Characters
Dive into character work: Ariel, Sebastian, Ursula, and more
Vocal warm-ups and focus on “Part of Your World”
Start choreography for group numbers
Scene work: Discovering motivations and emotions
Day 3 – July 16: Creating the World of the Story
Integrate acting, singing, and dancing into group scenes
Hands-on craft activity to help create props or costume elements
Scene rehearsal focusing on character interactions
Discussion: What does it mean to be true to yourself?
Day 4 – July 17: Building Confidence
Full run-through of all musical numbers with choreography
Blocking and stage movement exercises
Work on transitions and pacing for the performance
Reflection activity: What have you learned about following your dreams?
Day 5 – July 18: Polishing Performances
Detailed rehearsal of each scene with music and movement
Incorporate costumes and props into run-throughs
Peer feedback to refine performances
Group discussion: How can we support one another on stage?
Day 6 – July 19: Dress Rehearsal
Complete run-through with costumes, props, and stage cues
Final adjustments to timing, transitions, and character work
Practice connecting with the audience through emotions and storytelling
Confidence-building exercises to prepare for the big day
Performance Day – Sunday, July 20:
Arrival Time: 12:30 PM for warm-ups and final preparations
Show Time: 2:30 PM – A magical undersea performance of The Little Mermaid!
